NSR© Residence Courses

NSR Meditation© (NSR©) Residence Courses are opportunities for deeper growth through one-pointed participation in the following activities:

extended periods of NSR meditation,
gentle individual stretching to stabilize expanded consciousness in activity,
adjusting the practice of NSR to our needs, if necessary,
learning NSR Advanced Techniques (separate payment and approval must be completed before coming to the course),
hearing lectures by trained NSR instructors and advanced NSR practitioners,
enjoying the fellowship of shared group meditations, simple meals, and walk-and-talk after meals,
enjoying being in silence for extended periods of time (for those for whom this is appealing--this is optional!),
getting in-depth insight into experiences during NSR and its effects in daily life.

Prequisites

The prerequisites for attending an NSR Residence Course are as follows:

Having completed instruction in NSR© or Transcendental Meditation® prior to the course,
Providing complete registration information (to be determined),
Full payment of the course fee (the fee has not yet been determined; it will probably be around $300 per person, which includes meals, snacks, and accommodations). We expect to be able to offer partial or full scholarships for the course fee for those with financial need who let us know well in advance.
Right of admission reserved: A residence course is a very special time for practitioners of NSR Meditation to have deeper experiences and make more rapid progress in eliminating stress. Such deeper experiences are achieved under specially structured and nurturing conditions away from the hustle and bustle of active daily life, and in the company of others who have the same overall desire. For this reason, the course is available only to sincere practitioners who use the NSR technique of meditation and who wish to enhance their own experience of its benefits. It is not open to anyone who might just be curious or have any other reasons for attending, such as comparison with other meditation methods or for commercial purposes. We therefore ask that applicants respect our judgement in how we apply our right of admission policy. We want everyone to experience the course as it should be, and without disruption of any kind.

Some Practical Details

We need at least 15 people to commit to attending (assuming their schedule permits) before we can schedule our first course. Currently, we have 5 people signed up. If you are interested in attending, let us know and visit this page once in a while to see this number change.

Our first residence courses will probably be offered at the conference and retreat facility run by a religious order, shown on the left, set on a beautiful grassy hill on 50 beautifully wooded acres just west of Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The rooms are simple, plain, and small; we strongly recommend one person per room, even for couples, for best results from the course. There is no price reduction for those who may require a shared room. Each weekend course runs from Friday afternoon or evening until early afternoon Sunday.

You must make and pay for your own travel arrangements. Vans from Boston's Logan Airport are easy to arrange ahead of time by phone, car rental is fairly easy, and there are usually taxicabs available; we will provide easy driving directions for those coming by car.

The Fine Print

NSR Residence Courses currently require an understanding of spoken and written English.

Children and pets cannot be accommodated.

Smoking is not permitted in the rooms or anywhere on the grounds.

We ask that you leave perfumes and lotions at home, in consideration of those who may have chemical sensitivities.

Accommodation will be made for disabilities and special requirements (such as special foods) to the best of our ability, but only if we are informed well in advance of the course. You are also welcome to bring any special foods or drinks (no alcohol) with you.

Guide animals for blind and visually impaired participants are welcome but must be completely cared for by their owners. We can make most course materials available in braille if we receive your request at least three weeks before the course.
